WANDER BIRD listed in “Top 100 Indian Travel Blogs 2019”

How do I describe how I feel today? No matter what I write, it will not do justice to how I exactly feel. Wander Bird finally makes a grand entry to a list of Top 100 Indian Travel Blogs by Feedspot. That moment, when I received an email stating the same, was indeed magical.

Wander Bird - Top 100 Indian Travel Blogs

It was a cloudy morning and I had just settled down in front of my laptop, with my cup of piping hot herbal tea. Before getting down to serious blog-related work, I decided to take a quick look at the status of my Amazon order. I was eagerly waiting for the Indian Tricolour to arrive. It was 15th August, the next day (the Indian Independence Day) and being away from my country made me feel somewhat nostalgic. I was feeling so home-sick that I actually ordered for a miniature-version of the Indian National Flag. And I had full plans to unfurl it and celebrate the Indian Independence Day on American soil in my own little way. Yes, it sounds hysterical but that’s me!

The aroma of the tulsi-flavoured tea, had already brightened up my day. Maybe, that aroma was just setting the tone of the upcoming few moments in my life. I received a mail, sharp at 8:30 AM (USA time). The mail was from the Founder of Feedspot, citing that they found my blog impressive, with a great quality and useful content on travel. So, Wander Bird was just selected as one of the Top 100 Indian Travel Blogs. To add on to that excitement, I get RANK – 88, amidst the top-notch travel websites of the country. My joy knew no bounds!

Today, I remember that FIRST DAY, when the website went LIVE.

The relentless hard work for the last 6 months, the incessant mood swings which made me write at my own pace and the sleepless nights I have had – all seemed to have paid off finally! Number 88 (being my birth year) has always held a special place in my heart, and now it gets etched in my memory forever. I quickly went through the link shared with me. I actually fall short of words to describe how overwhelming the feeling was. It still is! I was placed in the same list as some of the best travel websites of the country. There were few names, whom I had been religiously following, right from the inception of Wander Bird. I used to spend days, just reading through their blogs, observing each one’s style of writing, what they write, how they present their content, how their websites are designed and how they make travelling look so professional. I actually feel proud to say that I’m so inspired by the travel writers of India. They are doing pretty amazing work. And getting featured among the top-notch travel bloggers of the country, gives an all-time high indeed!

I feel honoured, humbled and overwhelmed – all in one go. A big thank you to Feedspot, for considering WANDER BIRD worthy enough and giving it a recognition it fairly deserved! You made all those tough days in this journey, so worthy today.

A simple message for all aspiring bloggers

Words written from the heart, always touch another heart. So, if writing is your heartfelt passion, give it all that you have. Hardships are bound to come. Just keep that fire burning, to bounce back stronger.

Last, but never the least – I remember each one of you, who has been a part of my journey. Thank you, my friends, for being a constant support. I must admit that life gets a little easier, when you have a rock-solid dynamics with friends. Have been lucky to have that ‘lifeline-kind-of’ support system.

I hope my journey of writing just keeps rolling. And probably, never ends!
