How I Felt When I Completed 10 Years in the Same Company

I didn’t realise when it became 26-Sep-2021 and I had completed 10 years at Infosys just like that.

Reliving Memories

It felt like yesterday, when I was sitting in the induction program at the Multiplex in Infosys Mysore and was feeling on top of the world when the famous anthem of Infosys started playing – “This is my Infy. This is your Infy.”

And it was a very well-known rumour in my batch those days that the singer of this Infosys anthem was Celine Dion. I still don’t know who the actual singer is. But yes, I remember the exact feels on that day in 2011. And I still get goosebumps on reminiscing every single moment of the day. Undoubtedly, the FIRST JOB / the FIRST COMPANY will retain a special place in the heart like nothing else. This feeling is forever.

10 years at Infosys

10 years in the first company is a journey of a kind. I have been told that it doesn’t happen that easily these days. It’s rare. We all know how the career growth is like, if we are stuck in the same organisation in the corporate world. Ofcourse, the money is less. But again, I can’t really complain much on that front, given the exciting onsite opportunities I have got in my journey so far. Because of Infosys, Singapore also made it to my list of favorite countries in the world, after all. I had always kept hoping that the liabilities never surpass the annual income some day, which would force me to part from this beautiful organisation. Unfortunately, that goodbye happened and it was one of the hardest in my life.

Inspite of all the cons, I still find it hard to explain what held me back so far. There’s just something which makes it very hard to quit the first company, I guess. Quite similar to FIRST LOVE. Always hardest to let go of!

Luckily for me, the experiences at Infosys have been enriching. I got the right kind of exposure in terms of learning, worked in a variety of roles, multiple domains, expanded my outlook by working across the globe, got the right kind of inspiration from interesting personalities in the journey, made great friends and also found the love of my life. I can go on and on and write a book maybe, on my memories at Infosys. The list is endless.

Forever grateful for the beautiful journey at Infosys

Today, after completing a milestone of 10 years at Infosys, I stand strong with a mind sharpened with the best skills in the business and a heart enriched with beautiful memories for life. It’s not without a reason that people have always been in awe of Infosys. And I am grateful.

Since I am reminiscing a special day and commemorating a milestone, I would like to highlight why I was eager to make it in the campus interview of Infosys and only Infosys in the first place. The reason is simple – Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy and his beautiful value system instilled in the organisation. He has been and will always remain an inspiration for generations.

May this learning curve take new turns in the corporate journey ahead.

May the organization always stay true to its founding value system.

Thank you for everything, Infosys.
